Alexander McQueen meet my gold swag!

Sorry for my delayed post, I actually went to Omiya City today, which is my neighboring Prefecture. Omiya station has many department stores and rite now they are having a MASSIVE season end SALE to get rid of the summer styles (I know, already??? summer has just begun!)
In Vancouver the so called season end sales are WEAK! They take the tax off and that's about it.
BUT HERE IN JAPAN it is NUTS almost every store is 50% to 70% off,  no joke! you actually see people shoving and pushing to snatch their fav. item!

MY fav. purchase today was this GOLD shirt, it is simple but the fabric that is slightly transparent, iridescent and great fit just SOLD ME!

Gold clothing has been consistently IN since the Egyptian/Roman days where they wore Gold fabrics and jewelry to show their wealthy status. That's why no matter how casual the apparel, it has a luxurious feel.

I paired my gold shirt (sorry for the bad picture it was really hard to capture the beautiful GOLD hue, BOO) with my Alexander McQueen scarf, the skull print and the gold is slightly counteracting; gives it originality!

What kind of GOLD garment do you have in your closet?

got'em boyish swag

It's official, SUMMER IS HERE IN JAPAN

I want to be more excited about this but ASIA summer's aren't pretty. The humidity melting your make-up, sweat trickling down your forehead and sweat patches; YA- them nasty mofo's.
It's been about 27 degrees Celsius for the past few days; not quite high enough to do the stuff I said above but being used to Vancouver weather...it is HOT.

In Japan I've recently fallen in love with this new Magazine called 'GINA' (buy it here) It is a magazine targeting women in their mid twenties; people my age (smile)
I always found that magazines really split from teenage fashion to women in their 30's, so it's currently my new found fashion bible. I kinda go nuts reading it, IT INSPIRES ME, like how it inspired this post!

BOYISH SWAG

what is it? well it's a phrase I created (laugh) and I'm not sure it will catch on but hey, doesn't hurt to try rite?

ANYWAY, we all know that the main colors for summer are gonna be NEONs, CORALs and PASTELs, so it would be BORING if I post about that.

BUT WHAT IF THE MOOD THE COLORS EMANATE could become an OUTFIT
cchyyeeup, cause that's what I did!

NEON makes me think of

BOLD and ANGULAR
in this case: TRIANGLE

collared shirt and distressed stud shorts from HONEYS

What caught my eye was the bold triangle, looks even better on, but like most collared shirts they give off a very boyish look! Paired with distressed ripped studded shorts it adds to the look!
I know the color is leaning a bit over to the autumn hues, but the white shorts bring out the WHITE TRIANGLE, making it more summery looking.

and to show off my instagram talent

you want my look? Get em at HONEYS

Are you rocking the boyish swag?

Japan Fashion Haul!

Last week I had the lovely excuse of going to Tokyo/Saitama for work and decided to hop onto an earlier train to go shopping for a couple of hours. I was walking around in my suit and though it was such a pain to try on clothes, I still did it!
I think I even wrinkled my crisp new white blouse in the process BUT it was totally worth it!

This is my FIRST JAPAN HAUL! (post)

left to right: G.U., e hyphen gallery, Zara, e hyphen gallery
(pardon moi, for the awful layout!)

The highlight of this haul is my recent discovery of this boutique brand called E hyphen world gallery.(link to online store) Little did I know that they have stores in Hong Kong and Singapore too! The prices for their pieces are incredibly reasonable considering how well they are made.

e hyphen world gallery:
mint green off-the-shoulder knit - perfect slouch (that's always my battle with off-the-should garments).
coral neon stripped top with the cute small pocket has buttons on the sleeves and it zips up in the back! love the detailing - I will definitely do an outfit post on this one.

NOW for some candy -- ARM CANDY that is!

top to bottom: boutique, H and M, boutique, Forever21, e hyphen world gallery

AND to take me to great places, a pair of comfy shoes!

3 coin

These shoes were only 315 yen! that:s about 4 dollars usd! cute hey?

Let me know what your recent great purchases are!

No, it's not old. It's VINTAGE

When I first bought this watch, it was when I was in the junior or senior year of my high school. Might I add it wasn't that long ago, lol. During that time, GUESS was THE brand - especially the watches and I owned one - my prized possession.

After I graduated from high school, my styled changed (as many of us would agree)  and the watch was sadly thrown under the dust and forgotten until the rise of the arm candy came into trend.  After seeing the Michael Kors watches being paired with a plethora of gaudy bracelets and bangles, my oversized flashy GUESS watch came to mind!

Here is my revitalized look of my GUESS watch:

My question to you is do you have anything in your closet that you can revitalize?
